Privacy at Wild Rose Pet Sitting

Wild Rose Pet Sitting is a small pet-care business in Edmonton, Alberta. We respect your privacy and handle your personal information in line with Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

What we collect

When you send a request through our website, we collect your name and email address, your neighbourhood, information about your pets, the service and dates you're asking about, and anything you choose to add in the notes. If you become a client, we may also collect details needed to care for your pets and home, such as your address, emergency contacts, veterinary information and home-access instructions. We collect these directly from you, not through the website. Please don't send door codes, alarm codes, passwords or payment details through the website form. We'll arrange those with you directly and securely.

Why we collect it

We use your information only to reply to your request and check our availability, to arrange and provide pet care if you book with us, and to keep in touch with you about your pets' care. We don't sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.

Who can see it

Only Wild Rose Pet Sitting's owner and our website administrator can see website requests, using a protected sign-in. If you become a client, the sitter caring for your pets sees only what they need to do that.

Service providers outside Canada

We use trusted service providers to run our website and email: Cloudflare, Inc. hosts our website and stores the requests sent through it, and Google (Gmail) sends and receives our emails. These providers may store or process your information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to the laws of that country. To learn more about how we use these providers, or to ask any privacy question, contact our Privacy Contact below.

How long we keep it

We keep website requests only as long as we need them. If a request doesn't lead to a booking, we delete it within 12 months. Client information is kept for as long as you're a client and for a reasonable time afterwards for business and legal purposes, then securely deleted.

How we protect it

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including a secure (encrypted) website connection, a protected owner sign-in limited to authorised people, and two-step sign-in on our accounts.

Your choices

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, subject to any legal requirements. You can also withdraw your consent at any time; we'll explain if that affects our ability to care for your pets.
